Cal and I were recently asked to volunteer some time at the Odyssey House and we both thought it would be a good idea. After Cal and I set up the SCS system, the kids were let in and wow, there was some excitement, and a lot of curiosity. In the end, every person raced, including Cal and myself. Some ended up racing multiple times, and there was one girl who raced 8 times. Cal and I also can say that we’ve raced our first pregnant woman. A young girl 8 months and looking very pregnant, as well as two other gentleman who had a little puke session behind the building. All said they had a great time though, so nothing to worry about there. Some photos were sent to me, and I’ve added them to my flickr.com page. www.flickr.com/photos/todderickson

A Big Thank You!

Well, “The Third” was a big success. Cal and I would like to thank everybody who came out. The racing was fun and there were some amazingly fast times this year. I’d also like to thank all of our sponsors who gave us some pretty great prizes to raffle off this year! So thank you to Good Time Tattoo, Velo City Bags, Bike Man, Raleigh America, Macaframa and Cadence Clothing. You really made our event fun and who doesn’t love a raffle!

Also, look for Cal and I coming up on March 19th. We’ll be throwing Salt City Sprints races at FRESH (9th & 9th) during Gallery Stroll. Some come check us out if you haven’t before, and lets do some racing!

Upcoming SCS races at Nobrow

In hopes of encouraging more people to show up to the sprints races that Cal and I will be having on the 20th, I’d like to announce that ladies will get in for free. I would like to see more woman show up to these events, but I’d also like to see more race because it’s hella fun. I am still working on prizes at this point, but there will be stuff for the top men’s and woman’s racers. So come one, come all!!!

Sprints racing is right around the corner!

On February the 2oth, Cal and I are throwing some Salt City Sprints racing at Nobrow Coffee & Tea Co. Located at 315 East 300 South. The races are going to start at 7pm and go until 10. $5 at the door for entry and $1 raffle tickets as always. This year we have Cadence Clothing, Macaframa, Velo City Bags, Raleigh America, Bike Man, and the boys at Good Times tattoo as sponsors. So we’ll have some good stuff to raffle off and Nate (Velo City Bags) will have a table set up at Nobrow so you can see all of the new stuff coming from Velo City Bags. The races will be 500 meters with a 1000 meter championship round for those top racers. We hope to see everyone there!

Welcome to Salt City Sprints LLC new website! We hope you enjoy it! There are a few news worthy things to mention. Cal and I are still searching for a venue for our February 19th races, but we have locked down NoBrow Coffee & Tea co. for the SCS races on February 20th. which is a great venue to have races in. We had some there last year and it worked out really well. I hope to see lots of people there this year.
