First of all, I would like to thank everyone that showed up at the first ever Salt City Sprints. Despite computer problems that plagued the sprints all night, it was still a good time and a great turn out. So thank you to everyone that came and I hope that you all had a good time. I would like to give thanks to all of our sponsors, without whom we would have never been able to accomplish so much. Cyclesmith and Wildrose donated some great stuff for our raffle, as well as Dennis Holladay at Raleigh USA that was able to give us a 2008 Raleigh Rush Hour. I also want to thank Scott from LeVeL Components , Rickshaw Bagworks , Hokey Spokes , the whole shop from Guthrie Bicycle , Doug Openshaw, Jonathan Morrison, Calvert Cruz, the bar staff from Urban Lounge, Chase One our DJ for the evening. And last but not least the BFC, you guys really came through for us.
I am planning on having another Sprints. After talking with Jonathan Morrison, I think we both need it for our own piece of mind. There were a lot of man hours put into this event, as well as a great deal of money. But money isn't something that we are trying to make in throwing the sprints. We just want to have an event that people can come to and have a great time. Early on there were quite a few people at the event, but after we started having some computer issues, the crowd began to filter out a little bit. But still wanting to finish what we started, we just grabbed a stop watch and recorded single riders as they sprinted against other peoples times. |
